Girls' Night Out!

A few weeks ago on a Thursday we went to Kamakura for a night out without children! One of my friends hadn't been out for a long time, and I wanted her to have a good time! The eight of us had a blast and also enjoyed a delicious dinner! Since it was Thursday not many of the women joined me at 88 Broadway after wards. Tina and Melissa went along to 88 Broadway. Next time the rest of you won't have an excuse because it will be on a weekend! *clearing throat* KIM.

The three of us had a great time!! Melissa let me know that we were pretty much the oldest people there. One of the piano players thanked us for still being there after an hour and a half. Sadly, I was the one that pooped out at 12:30. Normally I'm the one begging every one to stay! Next post hopefully I'll have pictures of Charlie, one of the piano players. He was hilarious reciting rap on the piano! Enough for now! Next time we'll make it a bigger group and go to 88 Broadway!

About John Michael

John Michael's preschool sent homework for the family to work on together. All of us had fun working on it! We realized that John Michael uses both his left and right hand to write. I don't think he knows which one he wants to use yet. We noticed it a couple of times, but figured it was a fluke. Right now he seems to favor his right hand. He used to favor his left hand. Today we took a few family photos and a picture of him in his Darth Vadar outfit.

On the Trails With The Boys!

Last weekend we took a trip to Busey Woods. Bob and the boys met us there after a while. We tried to get John Michael to sit on the frog with Aaron, but he would have no part in that! We did get a cute shot of Aaron! This is a nice place to take the kids when the mosquitoes aren't bad.

John Michael and Aaron collected acorns while we waited for friends. They had a great time doing it!

Here are the boys after we took the trail. There was only one injury, John Michael slipped and fell on his butt! The boys had a great time on the trail and in the nature center. Once again, a great time with friends!

Best Mom title given by John Michael!

Saturday evening we had Bob, Jack, and Chase over to play. Melissa was busy with the OWB sale! The kids played while the grownups watched a new show. Before the kids left they wanted to know if they could come over the next day and play games. I told them they were welcome to come back! Jack said I was the best. John Michael proceeded to say, "My mom is the best mom ever!"

Oohhh man! That's the best compliment I've ever received. Of course, the next day he told me that I would never be playing with him again! I was still holding on to the best mom comment! *giggle*

I had my three month check up today. The baby is doing great! The heart beat was 148. October 27th is the day we'll find out if I'm having a third boy or a girl! I'm excited to see the little one that has been making me want to puke all the time! I feel very fortunate not to have had the problems I had with the last two pregnancies. I can take the nausea over the spotting!

That's it for now! I have tons of pictures and posts to add!

Isn't The Rain Enough?

I've been promising John Michael that he can play in the rain when it isn't thundering and lightening. FINALLY, this Thursday it rained all day without storming! As usual, we walk outside and John Michael wants to know if Jack and Chase can play. I called Melissa, because I was afraid of exciting the boys if they weren't going to be able to play in the rain. As you can see they joined us crazy people!
The boys had a BLAST! Melissa and I thought the rain would be enough, but the boys had to have their water guns. After a while I had them filling their guns where Aaron is standing below. It truly was a great time. Melissa and I were cold so we sat in the garage. I filled up the guns a few times for the boys from the spout.

It's wonderful to have neighbors like Melissa and Bob! She was crazy enough to sit outside with me while the kids got soaked!

Mommy, I thought you were leaving?

Yes, those were his words when Aaron and I dropped John Michael off at preschool for the first time. His Daddy took a picture of him with his new backpack Grandma Sandy bought him. He's so proud of wearing it and going to school. He said he would walk to school if I said yes. We walked into his classroom, washed his hands, and then I just stood there. I felt this reluctance to leave him, but not for any safety reasons. *I* was having the problem. This whole time I thought John Michael might be scared to go somewhere that wasn't familiar to him. I WAS WRONG!

So Aaron and I walked out, and right then and there the tears started. No, not John Michael's, mine! Aaron at the same time was yelling, "Gogot!" We were two pitiful people. I realized we had passed a phase, and on to a new one in his life. I thought the preschool was to prepare him for kindergarten, but I think it was to prepare ME for him being gone all day next year. He goes to preschool five days a week for three hours. He's having a blast with his teachers and new friends!

Today was the first full three hours of school. Aaron and I enjoyed our first morning alone! We bought a pair of shoes for him! He LOVES shoes! He actually saved his mommy some money! I was looking on one side of the isle, and he was pulling of shoes from the other side. I started putting back the shoes he had pulled off, and saw they were 80% off! The shoes were Munchkins, and fit him great! For a $30 pair of shoes, I spent $6! Thank you, Aaron! We looked for a backpack for Aaron, because he wants his brother's. I figure this time we can get him something his brother has. This is a big change for him. He kept asking for Gogot! Sadly, we didn't find one. We drove by the mall, and he motioned over there. He rode the carosel and we shared apple cider and a muffin. We headed over to the UI Research building, but found out we were there on the wrong day. In all Aaron and I had a really nice time. We'll be doing some library events and other things together. Meanwhile, John Michael informed me that he made a new friend. I found them playing light sabres, SHOCKING. *LAUGH* I also heard him ask another child if his friend could please have the toy when she was done. Guess that's it for now.
