Yes, boys will be boys. While I was sitting on the porch watching Aaron on the tricycle this is what my other to boys were doing. At first John was sword fighting with a bat against John Michael. A few minutes later I see John Michael backing out of the garage and this long yellow pole following him! John Michael has a sword and kite that he's fighting with. Daddy has a light bulb changing pole that he's using to defend himself. They were having a blast!
Today we had a busy day! The boys slept in, and I was actually about to sleep until 9 a.m. We went out for lunch, and headed out to Lake of the Woods to ride the paddle boats. It started to do alittle more than sprinkle, but we decided to get out and explore per John Michael's request. The boys ran around the deck and over the bridge. There was a HUGE family of geese walking around. Aaron kept squatting near the geese, and babbling at them. Aaron wanted to get closer, and didn't care that the parent goose was hissing at him. We were fine five feet away from the geese, but not for Aaron. he wanted to get close and personal with them. John Michael thought it was GREAT that we were walking around in the rain! I wished we had someone there taking pictures of us walking down the stairs. All four of us were holding hands down the stairs. John Michael loved being able to help his little brother down the stairs. John had asked me earlier where I would want to be right now, and I told him right where I was at. It was true when I said it, and it rang true when all four of us were walking down the stairs together. The beginning of the year was quite painful, and now we are in such an amazing place. We have two sweet amazing little boys(not so little anymore), and we're both happy! After the park we went home to jump on our bikes with the burly. Aaron is not a big fan of it, but ended up getting used to it on the ride over to the park. We rode to Carle Park, and let the kids play for a while. They ended up playing at the water fountain. John Michael got soaked and was thrilled he could take his shirt off. I felt like I should stop him from being a human water fountain(spitting water out), but I also thought they were just being kids. They weren't spitting water on each other. John Michael kept saying his was a water fountain. I figured since there weren't any other kids around he spit water on the ground. *laugh* I may regret that next time we go to the park. Ah, we as parents learn our lessons.
At last we came home to relax a little. Aaron fell asleep in my arms. Ohhhh I felt so warm inside! John and I watched
I Am Legend after I cooked burgers on my WONDERFUL grill! We spent half the time pulling Aaron off of the table in front of the t.v. I swear we should've named him Monkey!
Okay, Aaron flipped out of his crib this morning as I was walking to get him out! He didn't even have to try very hard. John is hoping Aaron learned his lesson, but I'm not holding my breathe. Aaron will be trying again. He flipped right onto his back. So we're guessing we'll be putting him in John Michael's race car bed. John Michael has been sleeping in John's old bed in Aaron's room. They've been sharing a room, and it has been working out. The only time Aaron gets ticked off is when John Michael gets out of bed right after we put them to bed to go to the bathroom. John and I realize that we'll probably be struggling with Aaron to stay in bed. Whheeehaa!
Last thing, John Michael is fully potty trained!! We're so excited! He hasn't had an accident during the day for a couple months now. He hasn't had an accident during the night for a couple weeks now. SO, we are trying underwear tonight. He's so proud of himself! We're also very proud of him. He decided one day he'd go potty. The first week was a bit frustrating, but I really shouldn't complain! There were a couple days he wanted to sit on the toilet for HOURS and I mean HOURS! He's stopped saying he's lonely while sitting on the toilet. Okay, that's it for now!
